RESEARCH
GOAL:
The goal of the research was to find out about people’s preferences, wants and needs int he fintech industry
What is fintech?
Fintech is short for financial technology and is used to improve the overall financial experience of users

Mind Map
In order to understand the different branches of fintech, a mind map was made
The mind map helped understand the underlying principles of fintech and which area we wanted to cover
Market Analysis
Financial banking apps were further broken down into different categories to understand their pros, cons and features that stand out

After listing out the products that exist, pros and cons were listed for selected apps
Bi-axel Map
Biaxial comparison of the different apps based on traditional banking and functions
A service in the modern banking sector that has multiple functions is the ideal service that is needed for the younger generation to understand banking and develop
positive habits
Qualitative Research 
Interviews were conducted to understand people’s understanding and use of financial banking in both the digital as well as the real world
People tend to rely on monthly statements released  by their banks to budget their monthly expenses. Some used excel sheets and very few relied on apps

More people saw $1 as something you can spend instead of save. This concludes that people are interested in saving larger amounts of money and do not see much value in smaller amounts such as $1
WORKSHOP
In order to understand the user needs and scenarios in a better manner, a workshop was conducted. The graphic below suggests that most people rely on their parents when they are in a stressful situation



"Who do you go to when you are stressed?"
This question helps us understand that people tend to go to their parents when they are stressed out in a situation. A few users also said that they tend to solve problems on their own

What colors do you associate these words to under the world of "wealth"?
The color-feeling activity instructed users to connect words with a color they associate the words with. This helped us understand what our users thought about colors and words

Trust - Most people don't trust outside sources to be able to access their information 
Habits - Money habits are passes on from one generations to the next
Curiosity - It depends on the person whether they are curious about finance or not 
Customized - People like their own personalized method
Human Nature - Human beings are visual creatures

We designed this wireframe with the research result we got, based on this version and feedback from users we improved the UI and onboarding experience that leaded to the final prototype

The middle manager - Who loves to manage people while dividing up responsibility equally. Listens to advice and takes action accordingly
The follower - Who takes advice from peers, internet and family. Prefers people’s touch and talking to them
The free spirited - Who seeks no advice and gives no advice. Does not usually have a plan but follows their heart.
